Laurence M. Weinberg, M.D.
Dr. Weinberg has been in private practice in West Chester since 1986 and was the primary founder of the West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 1993. A graduate of Wesleyan University, he received his medical degree from Boston University. Following an internship and residency training at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. and five years of internal medicine practice, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Temple University Hospital. In addition to enjoying golf and cycling, Dr. Weinberg is a dedicated amateur pianist and plays with a local chamber music group, the Ensemble Sine Nomine. Dr. Weinberg and his wife, who is in the teaching profession, enjoy spending time in Santa Fe, NM; their daughter is a graduate student in musicology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. |

Andrew E. Schwartz, M.D.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Schwartz has been in practice in West Chester since 1989. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University, and attended the New York Medical College. Dr. Schwartz completed his residency training at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Northwestern University, where he was awarded the Northwestern University Outstanding Young Investigator Research Award. Dr. Schwartz coaches youth basketball, and is active in the West Chester Cycling club. |

David R. Neiblum, M.D., F.A.C.G.
A Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Neiblum attended Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia after graduating cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, NY. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at The Medical College of Pennsylvania, and subsequently was Assistant Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where he taught gastroenterology to fellows and residents. He joined West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 2000. Dr. Neiblum has published a number of scientific articles and has a strong interest in colon cancer screening, on which he has lectured numerous times. He was recently named a "Top Doc" in Main Line Today magazine. He is also an accomplished photographer and writer, but lately has been busy corralling his twin girls and their little sister. |

David E. Bobman, M.D.
Dr. Bobman joined West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 2005 after fourteen years in gastrointestinal practice at Riddle Memorial, Taylor, and Crozer-Chester Hospitals. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Medical School. Dr. Bobman completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Cooper Hospital/UMDNJ. He is Board Certified in gastroenterology and twice was chosen as one of the “Top Docs” in Main Line Today Magazine. Dr. Bobman is active on the board of the Chester County Medical Society. |

Alex S. Kuryan, M.D.
Dr. Kuryan received his undergraduate degree from Boston University magna cum laude and his medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine. After completing his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital, Dr. Kuryan joined West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 2005. He treats all gastrointestinal disorders, but has particular interests in capsule endoscopy, hepatobiliary disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies. He was recently named a "Top Doc" in Main Line Today magazine. Dr. Kuryan enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. |

Reina P. Bender, M.D.
A native of Chester County, Dr. Bender joined the West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 2007 after completing her gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. While in Boston, she completed a program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Bender has received numerous academic, research and teaching awards and has published and presented scientific papers at several national meetings. She was recently named one of the “Top 40 Doctors Under 40” by Philadelphia Magazine, and a "Top Doc" by Main Line Today magazine. She enjoys running, traveling and teaching her children to cheer for the Philadelphia Eagles. |

Carrie N. Miller, M.D.
Born and raised in northeast Philadelphia, Dr. Miller attended New York University School of Medicine after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed internal medicine residency training at Thomas Jefferson University and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship
training at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Miller is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Miller practices general gastroenterology with a special interest in women's digestive health.
Her practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis), hepatitis, digestive disorders during pregnancy, nutrition counseling, and colon cancer screening. Dr. Miller is married and has two young daughters. |

Matthew M. Baichi, M.D.
Dr. Baichi joined West Chester Gastrointestinal Group in 2007 after practicing and teaching gastroenterology at the V.A. Western New York Health Care System and S.U.N.Y. University at Buffalo. He has conducted research on a wide range of GI. diseases, and has presented his work at national conferences and has authored numerous scientific publications. Dr. Baichi grew up in Syracuse, N.Y., where he graduated from nearby Colgate University. He then received a Master of Science degree from University at Buffalo and his medical degree from the S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center at Syracuse. Dr. Baichi completed residency training in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Rochester (N.Y.). He practices general gastroenterology with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis). Dr. Baichi is married and has two young daughters. In his spare time he enjoys fishing in the local
streams. |
