On the Radio

Dr. David Neiblum was recently interviewed about the importance of colon cancer screening on the Mark Daniels show WFIL AM 560 and WNTP, and also on Hershey’s Mill TV in West Chester. He emphasized that colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. Colonoscopy screening is the best way to prevent or detect early colorectal cancer.

New Technology

Drs. Kuryan, Baichi, Miller, and Bender are our resident experts in PillCam™ capsule endoscopy, an innovative patient friendly procedure, to diagnose and evaluate patients with small intestine and esophageal disorders. PillCam™ SB for the small intestine helps detect Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, GI bleeding, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), small bowel tumors and NSAID related injuries. PillCam™ ESO for the esophagus helps detect gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis and Barrett’s Esophagus (a precancerous condition). To date, over 200,000 people around the world have undergone PillCam Capsule Endoscopy.

Open Access Program

No office visit! Patients needing routine colon cancer screening, surveillance colonoscopy (previous polyps or cancer) or Barrett’s esophagus screening (those who’ve had GERD or heartburn frequently for more than 4 years) who are generally healthy can now come directly to our outpatient endoscopy center for their procedure. Educational and pre-procedure materials and instructions are mailed to the patient prior to their visit. However, if a patient wishes to first meet with one of our physicians or nurses to discuss the procedure simply request an appointment. Those patients with diabetes, heart disease, or other major medical conditions require an office visit with the doctor prior to the procedure. Please call the office at (610) 431-3122 for more detailed information.

Our Director of Nursing in West Chester Endoscopy, Marybeth Palumbo, won a "MVP" - Most Valued Professional - Award in the May 2007 issue of Endonurse magazine. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor to Marybeth!
